Arriving

I have been here for a couple days, gathering supplies, meeting with Andres Vega, and visiting with friends and family. Today most of the students arrive and tomorrow we head off to the first Field Station - La Selva Biological Station. There is always a little anxiety and a lot of excitement associated with their arrival. I wonder if the weather in the US is cooperating or if there will be delays. Once the students all arrive, I can't wait to get started.

I have spent the morning re-reading their research proposals and am excited to get started. They worked hard all semester and have come up with some very interesting projects. While I am sure some of the groups will have to alter their plan once they get started, I am sure they all will collect some interesting data. Some may even be able to publish their results.
